Heavy Blues is increasingly becoming a favorite genre of mine, combining the heavy slow droning riff elements that all the best stoner/fuzz bands encapsulate, and one band who are doing this with aplomb at the moment is Buffalo Fuzz! The two piece (Jared Zachary – guitars, bass and vocals, Jake Allan on drums) from Minneapolis, MN, USA, bring their self titled debut full length album for you to lose your groovy shit over, as they glide through gritty vocals, bass-laden riffs, and songs that are on the precipice of exploding into a drunken blues furore of dramatic proportions. Toothy grit, hard lines, and heavy riffs.
The past and future of blues music collide in every thunderous snap of the string, shooting a pulse of electricity into an army of soul-dripping tube amps. On September 12, 2016, Buffalo Fuzz unleashes the sound of a wild animal in their debut, self-titled album including highly-acclaimed singles “Perfect Man” and “Ain’t Seen a Cent”. The 11 track album covers an array of classic rock and blues aesthetics while remaining true to the honesty and authenticity of lyrics, tone, and groove. The groovy fuzz incinerates the airwaves with smoky bass lines, battering riffs, and bluesy chops. 2-pieces aren't supposed to sound like this. This is fantastic! It's like The Black Keys trampled by stampeding bison through the desert sands in search of Sabbath. Watch out for these guys!
